I love war movies, especially about world war 2. So my favourite movies are: "Private Ryan", "Enemy at the gate", "Gold for the brave", "Only for eagles" or "One bridge too far" . So I will describe one of them. I think that "Private Ryan" is the best of them all and deserves the biggest applause. That production hit me already in the first 10 minutes of the film, when the brave Allies took the Omaha beach by storm. But let us start from the beginning: the whole movie is about the Second World War. So we have the Allies, Germans, Russians and Polish soldiers and their ways of handling the war. But the screenplay says about a company that comes under Tom Hanks. They are one of thousands of companies in the United Forces. But they are given a strange mission. They have to go to France and save a private. His last name is Ryan. He had 3 brothers and they all died in battle. So the command decided to save the last of the Ryan family. Their mother would have one son at least. And here is where the brave Tom Hanks's company arrives. They pack immediately and go to find and save the title private Ryan. And that’s what the film is all about. The brave commander and his crew on a difficult mission. But the best about the whole production are the special effects, where they don't save the money on the stunts, explosions, the WW2 equipment and lots of other things. The film briliantly shows the years 1940 to 1945, the climate of the war. And the beautiful music creates the magic mood. There are not many stars in the movie, just Tom Hanks, he is plays brilliantly. I think that "PR" is his best movie ever.
I think that movies such as "Private Ryan", "Enemy at the gate", "Gold for the brave", "Only for eagles" or "One bridge too far" are very important for us and the future generations, because they show us how our grandfathers and fathers worked for peace, the peace we can live in now. Today many people don't appreciate the work people did in the Second World War.
But as long as films like those are shot, the knowledge about the soldiers and the sacrifice they made will be bigger and bigger from day to day. At least I hope it will.
